SIX KINGS
(Not yet released...)
Setting: 12,000 years ago
Twelve thousand years ago in a galaxy not far from our own lived six immortals, rulers of a thousand worlds.
Powerful, sage — to their subjects they were gods.
This is the tale of their destruction.
History:
The twilight of the Goyle heralded the fall of the Second Dark Age. Remnants of that vast republic were left scattered among the stars, ruined, out of contact, all traces of their fantastic technology forgotten, lost to time.
From the ashes of the Goyle new societies were born, flourished and died, none coming close to the power once held by the last truly galactic race. Wars were fought. Pilgrims moved from world to world, connecting some, leaving many behind, fostering legacies and mythologies in their wake.
Three million years ago a race of these pilgrims built a colossal World Ship. Planetary in size, fusion powered, designed to carry them on a great journey through the void of space. Designed to provide them with an escape from the dark times sweeping the worlds of their galaxy. To fulfill their dream of starting anew, to reach another galaxy altogether.
Their journey could be the subject of many stories in itself.
This, however, is not their tale.
This is the tale of their descendants.
The Story:
Having reached a new galaxy, which they called Garrok Schan, the descendants of the World Ship spread among the stars for 140,000 years. Their civilization grew great. They developed a method for moving between worlds at a fast rate, allowing them to control vast tracts of space. Six great familys rose to lead them. A million worlds, yoked under six major houses.
Ruled by six kings.
Then, 15,000 years ago, the ruler of their greatest house achieved immortality.
Sital of House Sital shared this discovery with his four brothers and one sister, rulers of the other five Houses, and together they began a rule that lasted three thousand years. Immortal, their thoughts and minds — their essence — shuffled at will between bodies, they commanded their houses as gods incarnate. None opposed them. None dared; civilization under their guidance had achieved a near utopian state.
But any who would seek to become a god risk the attention of those who have. A lesson the six kings are about to learn. For not all gods are forgiving. Indeed; the most powerful can defend their autonomy with a vengeance.
