PAST EVENTS:

METROCON

Tampa, FL    [Jul 2007]

This year I brought my son, who was finally old enough to come to one of these. He came on Sunday but there were still tons of people in costume which was awesome. He and I both had a blast.

MEGACON

Orlando, FL    [Feb 2007]

We were only there on Saturday this year, though we did show up briefly on Friday night. One thing we did do was go to the Anime Sushi sponsored dance, and stay till it closed. That was very cool. Support those guys if you can. Thanks to all who came by the booth, to those who bought books and to those who just stopped to chat. It was great to see all of you.

NECRONOMICON

Tampa, FL    [Oct 2006]

Came just for the evening portions of this, not during the day. It was a good chance to hook up with some local fans, get feedback and explain the current state of affairs. In short, Dave is looking at new avenues for release of the upcoming stories, along with additional mediums such as graphic novels and film. It's all a long shot and requires tons of preliminary work, which is what has been keeping him preoccupied. The faithful will be rewarded. At least, that's the plan.

DRAGONCON

Atlanta, GA    [Sep 2006]

We had to miss this one though representation was afoot. Ian and Jason were among you, taking photos and so forth. Apologies to all who came out and missed us. Dave has been working on several projects over the last year — all of which bode well for the future, but have hampered promotion for the current books. When the time comes, and if all goes as planned, the wait will be worth it.

OASIS

Orlando, FL    [May 2006]

We were waylaid enroute to this one and didn't make it. Oasis was at a new venue this year and under new “management”, so we were looking forward to seeing the changes. There wasn't much for us on the schedule, but we did miss an 11 am signing.

MegaCon

Orlando, FL    [Feb 2006]

Thanks to all who stopped by, and especially to those of you who bought books. I hope you enjoy the stories!

FX Show

Orlando, FL   [Jan 2006]

This turned out to be an amazingly large toy show, mostly, with emphasis on Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror. A lot of people came out so we had a decent amount of exposure. Thanks to all who bought books, and all who are visiting the site now. Hope everyone had fun.

Necronomicon

Tampa, FL   [Oct 2005]

Starting to get to know people well enough to be on speaking terms. A few years of going to these various Cons and you're all starting to feel like family. Thanks again to all who stopped by. And to those who bought books — be sure to let me know what you think when you're done!

DragonCon

Atlanta, GA   [Sep 2005]

DragonCon was a success. My good friend Clay joined me and we "worked it". This year we got to more of the after hours events, even making it to the Crux Shadows show after the Masquerade. Cool stuff, cool costumes, cool people. DragonCon is an awesome event. Thanks to all who stopped by, and especially to those of you keeping the faith. It's you guys who keep me going.

Thanks to digital technology (which I've finally discovered) the pics are ready and up. Check `em out:

OASIS

Orlando, FL   [May 2005]

Road delays stole some of our time this year, but we still made it for most of the day on Saturday. Lots of familiar faces as we manned the signing table. Thanks to Terry and Jim for having us, and for their understanding of our schedule!

MegaCon

Orlando, FL   [Feb 2005]

We moved to a different hall this year, a little smaller but still quite active. Chris Jackson was on hand again and together we talked to many, many fans. It was a good time. I also went to the dance this year, which I enjoyed. I got out and saw more of the Con itself, rather than spending all my time behind the table — though I did man the table a majority of the time.

Thanks again to all who stopped by, and especially to those of you who bought books. I hope you enjoy the stories!

Necronomicon

Tampa, FL   [Oct 2004]

Once again I shared a table with some great authors. They were Chris Jackson, also from AuthorHouse Books, and another AuthorHouse author Stephanie Keller de Nunez, whom I met before at Oasis. Both are amazing authors with amazing conepts/stories.

More people stopped to talk this year than last, so that was good. And thanks to Rolaine and the guys at Camelot Books for giving us a place to be.

DragonCon

Atlanta, GA   [Sep 2004]

Regrettably we had to do the unthinkable and cancel this year, due to Hurricane Frances. We were scheduled and ready, right up until the last minute. You can imagine we were all very sad. But, we'll be back next year with a vengeance.

OASIS

Orlando, FL   [May 2004]

I probably had my most aggressive scheduling as a guest at this one. Three panels, a few signings and one reading. This was a smaller, more intimate Con, with a turnout of some of the most dedicated Sci-Fi fans I've seen. These guys really knew their authors and titles and I was very impressed by their knowledge. Makes me realize I need to bone up a little...

MegaCon

Orlando, FL   [Mar 2004]

Great Con. Excellent attendance, excellent staff and coordination. At least, that was my impression. This particular appearance was special because several of you stopped to tell me you'd read The One after getting it from me at last year's Con and — and this is the most important part — you enjoyed it. As you know if you've ever talked to me or read any parts of this site, my senior objective is a reader who enjoys the story. To hear that you did, and to hear it in person, was the greatest form of validation. There were many highlights to the weekend, but those moments were tops.

Eckerd College Book Fair

St. Pete, FL   [Nov 2003]

Not as well attended this year, the Book Fair (Fesitval of Reading was, I believe, the official title) was nevertheless a success. I enjoyed spending time with each of you who stopped to talk. And as always, to those who bought books, write and let me know what you think. I always like to hear from you.

Necronomicon

Tampa, FL   [Oct 2003]

I shared a table with a couple of kick-ass authors. They were Emilio Diaz, author of Sword of the Heart (also from 1st Books) and James Fredrick, author of A Cross to Bare. Check out their stuff, if for no other reason than because I said to. You won't be dissapointed.

Not very many people stopped to talk, so I was a little sad. I did make a few excellent contacts and that's always worth the trip. Plus, the Necronomicon staff were possibly the sweetest Con staff ever. They really were.

DragonCon

Atlanta, GA   [Sep 2003]

Hooah! I had a blast. Everyone who stopped by was awesome; great conversations. And there were many. I had more visitors this year than last year, signed and sold more books than last year, gave away a cool prize (which I didn't do last year), handed out a hundred multi-media CDs — in all, everything was more or better.

Thanks again to all who visited. I've said this before, but I love being able to go out and chat with other sci-fi and fantasy fans, especially in that setting. Can't wait to seeing you all at the next one. And to those who bought books, I look forward to hearing what you think!

FITCon

Melbourne, FL   [Apr 2003]

This took place on the Florida Institute of Technology campus. I'm told there's a push from "management" to reduce the name simply to Florida Tech, which would presumably change the convention name to FTCON in the future. However I'm sure the valient members of the FITSSFF club will hold their own and keep tradition alive.

MegaCon

Orlando, FL   [Feb 2003]

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by. Megan was there handing out bookmarks and business cards again, so if you're visiting the site as a result of the Con odds are you're doing so because of her.

Thanks again to all who came by and talked. It's so incredible to be able to go out and chat with other sci-fi and fantasy fans, especially in that setting. I look forward to seeing you all at the next one. And to those who bought books, I look forward to hearing what you think!

Big Top Flea Market / Oldsmar Market

Tampa, FL   [Dec 2002]

It was great meeting and talking to everyone who stopped by both locations. I was at Oldsmar in early December and Big Top mid-month. These were my first (and only) flea market attempts and in all they were a success. The most important thing, I believe, is to get out and talk to readers and potential readers. Word of mouth goes a long way. Again, thanks to all who stopped by.

Eckerd College Book Fair

St. Pete, FL   [Nov 2002]

The Book Fair at Eckerd College was a success. Thanks to all who came out; it was great talking with you. To those who bought books I hope you enjoy the story. I look forward to hearing your comments.

ARCHON 26

St. Louis, MO   [Oct 2002]

We had a presence at Archon 26 in St. Louis. Megan was there handing out the black business cards emblazoned with "Saga of Ages / The Saga Begins Here..." Thanks to all who took a card and visited the site.
